American Express, in cooperation with the National Trust and Partners in Preservation is giving out $1,000,000 in grants to historic places in the Chicago area to help with their upkeep and repair. I have a friend from high school who teaches at an inner city school. She does a postcard project where she asks people to send postcards from all over the US and the world to her students and they put them up on the board during the year.
